We’ve got our workout wardrobe covered but what about the other important factors like our hair? How do we avoid looking like Cousin It after a gruelling workout? Here are my favourite gym-friendly hairstyles that’ll keep you looking good from warm-up to cooldown:

Hi Bun
Channel Kardashian gym chic with a high bun. Throw those luscious locks into a high ponytail, wrap in a circular motion, loosen as required; adding pins to secure.

Tucked Away
If you have shorter hair, opt for a low bun and pin bangs and flyaways where necessary.

Dianna Agron
Flowing Locks
Wear your hair out without having to worry about it sticking to your face by twisting or braiding the front of your hair. Genius or what?

Catwalk Pony
There’s something about a glam high ponytail waving around as I hit the treadmill or cross trainer that motivates me, and pushes me that little bit further.

Pared Back
This fuss-free look is clean and simple. Be sure to use pins where necessary to avoid flyaway strands.

Braidy Bunch
Add some flavour to a low ponytail by wearing your hair to the side with a chunky plait.

80’s Power
Add your own modern take on Olivia Newton-John’s Let’s Get Physical video with a headband. It’ll keep your hair in place, out of the way and most importantly keep all of that hard-earned perspiration under control.

Wait! What about our faces?
For sweat purposes it’s a good idea to go make-up free but, if you’d rather not go commando on the face front opt for a BB cream or a light to medium coverage foundation.

BB Creams are perfect for on-the go beauty. Where else can you find a moisturiser, serum, sun cream, primer and light coverage foundation in one tube that has the ability to adapt to your complexion?!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One BB Cream- £7.49

GOSH BB Cream – £9.99

Dr Jart+ Beauty Balm – £18 – £24

If you’d prefer to stick your usual make-up regime, choose a light to medium coverage foundation. Be sure to apply sparingly however, cracked foundation isn’t cute. I’m sure we can all relate.

Revlon PhotoReady Makeup – £12.99

bareMinerals Ready SPF20 Foundation – £25.00

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation SPF15 – £24.00

And what about those peepers? Well, I leave my falsies at home *insert sad face*. However, a slick of waterproof mascara does the trick. I think we’d all rather avoid the embarrassment of experiencing our falsies sliding off our eyelids and onto the treadmill.

Benefit BadGAL Lash Waterproof Mascara – £16.50

Low-maintenance. High energy.
