The oh-so nineties berry shade and its counterparts graced the catwalk during SS13 at Jonathan Saunders and Naeem Khan, and again for AW13 at Vera Wang, Fendi, Emporio Armani and Zeynep Tosun.

Even the stars are going dark. Rihanna wore an aubergine shade for her River Island show at London Fashion Week AW13. Joan Smalls chose a deep plum tone during Milan Fashion Week AW13, and Kim Kardashian opted for a burgundy hue at Elton John’s Oscars viewing party last Sunday. Whilst Julianne Hough wore a wine shade at the Safe Haven premiere in Berlin on Monday. Moral of the story? Dark lips aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

Last Sunday, I made history. Well, personal history that is. My go-to nude, pink, and red lip options were pushed to the back of the lipstick box, and made room for the new kid in town.

Introducing ‘Lord & Berry Vogue Semi-Matte Lipstick in ‘Black Red’ (£9.60), and matching Lord & Berry Kissproof Lip Liner in ‘Black Red’ (£6.00). The moniker alone sounds mysterious, and boy does the colour make a statement. The semi-matte finish has the right balance between vibrancy and moisture, and it stays on ALL day.

Love, Ms.Rae xo
