Last night, I visited well-renowned Soho venue Floridita and stepped aboard their nautical summer pop up – Puerto Floridita located and sectioned off underneath the restaurant’s iconic sweeping grand staircase. I was instantly transported to Cuba on a brightly coloured deck where I sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the vibes.
If you know me, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of good vibes, and Puerto Floridita certainly did not disappoint! I enjoyed the relaxed yet vibrant and swayed to the live sounds of the funk, soul, and Latin-American Salsa bands playing throughout the night.
I tried each of signature cocktails curated by South America’s finest sparkling wine Chandon. The Pina Spritz in particular was my favourite. It’s a mixture of Chandon filled with crushed ice, garnished with a slice of fresh pineapple and served in a cabernet glass.
To complement the signature cocktails, Executive Chef Sascha Rieb served up an extensive on-board bar snack menu. Small plates featured Olive mixes, Soft Shell Crab with Chipotle Ketchup, Chilli Squid Rings and Garlic and Chilli King Prawn Cocotte. Swoon.
The bar is open from 5.30pm-3.00am, with live music and DJs from Tuesday-Saturday. It can also be hired for exclusive private bookings.
If you’d like to find a a fun, summer Soho hideaway, Puerto Floridita is a must-visit – whether the sun’s shining outside or not.
10/10 from me.
