The highly anticipated Belstaff and Liv Tyler AW16 capsule collection has landed in stores and online.

Liv Tyler teamed up with the British brand as both Creative Contributor and Ambassador; presenting 13 key womenswear pieces for Autumn/Winter 2016. Working closely with Belstaff’s Collection Creative Director Delphine Ninous, Liv Tyler was involved in seamlessly merging the brand’s spirit and archives in the capsule collection, which is based on classic silhouettes in luxurious natural fibres that emphasise a strong and modern femininity.

“I’d always wanted to create a few timeless classics. Things I have in my closet but wished I designed myself,” says Liv Tyler. “I sought to express strength through the outerwear and leather pieces alongside a more feminine sensual side through the softer materials like silk, and via the more fitted silhouettes of my styles. It’s a celebration of the feminine and masculine rolled into one.”

In this collection we see a black, ink blue, blush, and military green colour story where a fine leather jacket takes centre stage with a removable collar and a quilted interior, contrasted with elegant pussybow blouses, androgynous slim fit trousers, military heeled ankle boots, fitted flat knee high riding boots, an a quintessential cross-body bag.

An updated, more fitted take on the Milford coat (the famous coat Belstaff originally created for Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock) has been introduced in three fabrications, and two nylon parkas come with removable shearling gilets.

Belstaff also showcases a new range of technical fabrications including a protective coated treatment and water-repellent cotton and lightweight nylon garbadine. Toscana skin has also been used to add warmth, textural depth and contrast to the technical detailing; which is perfect for the colder, and wetter months.

The mantra behind the capsule collection focuses on practicality, and functionality without scrimping on elegance and luxury.

“I have a preference for clothes that are practical and functional but also very luxurious and elegant. I like being able to throw a look together quickly and feel and look my best. I know what works for me and my body, and I try to stick to that” adds Tyler.

The exclusive pieces range from £295-£1595.
