The most wonderful time of the year is drawing near, how exciting?! When the quest for some festive fun begins be sure to add the Pear Tree Christmas Market to your list.
Head to Battersea Park on the 2nd and 3rd of December for a truly wonderful experience. Located on Pear Tree Café’s terrace, set amongst trees adorned with twinkling lists overlooking a frosted boating lake, 30 vendors will sell artisan food and drink as well as handmade and luxury gifts.
Founders Annabel Partridge and Will Burrett have selected a great round-up of vendors, from foodie favourites Alpages Swiss Alpine Cheese, Rococo Chocolate, Cannon & Cannon cured meats, relishes by Rubies in the Rubble, loose leaf tea and ware by Good and Proper Tea and Wiston Estate sparkling wine, and on the less edible side of the spectrum; handmade woven rugs by Francesca Gentilli, unique footwear by Rouge Matilda, and cutesy stationery by South London Letter Press.
A personalised gift hamper service will also run throughout the weekend, allowing shoppers to choose their own baskets as well as treats and trinkets. The Pear Tree Christmas Market will have all bases covered.
Touted as a ‘weekend of winter wonderment’, the Pear Tree Christmas Market will host a BBQ from 12pm featuring exclusive dishes such as The Pig in Blanket Hot Dog with prunes, pancetta and balsamic onion, alongside a variety of meat-free options: brussel sprouts and chestnut skewers with date syrup, molten cheese with charlotte potatoes, and cornichons with pickled pearl onions. To finish, guests will be able to retire around the Marshmallow Fire Pit, and make their way to the covered Lake bar where spiced mulled wines and warming cocktails will be served.
As the evening draws near, glowing candles will signify a transition into the Saturday Night Market where friends and family with gather with carol singers and festivities. To top it all off, Pear Tree Café will host an evening supper, featuring pulled pork sliders, pickled apple and red cabbage, and turkey schnitzel brioche bun with cranberry sauce, melted brie and radicchio. Meanwhile, the Pear Tree Hatch will serve sausage rolls, mince pies, hot chocolate, and mulled cider.
